Bittle not on 25-man roster

Ole Miss right-handed pitcher Scott Bittle, the Rebels’ best during the regular season, will not be part of the 25-man roster for this weekend’s NCAA Super Regional against Virginia, Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco has announced.
Bittle hasn’t pitched since April 26 when he went seven innings, struck out 11 and walked one in a 5-1 Ole Miss win.
He was scratched from his regularly scheduled start at Auburn the following week, suffering from arm soreness that was later diagnosed as a strained anterior capsule.
Bittle is 5-2 with a 2.17 earned run average in 45 2-3 innings pitched. He has struck out 68, walked 22, and opponents are hitting .175 against him.
He won four straight Sunday starts through the regular season to help the Rebels clinch a share of the SEC overall championship.
