BMC golf team earns NAIA tournament berth

ATHENS, Ala. – The Blue Mountain College golf team claimed a four-shot victory in the six-team regional qualifying tournament on
Tuesday to earn a berth in NAIA National Championship May 14-17 in Salem, Ore.
Adam Hall (Saltillo) fired the day’s best round, a one-over-par 73, to help
BMC finish with total score of 913. Hall finished in a tie for fourth place with a 223.
Hall was joined on the All-Tournament team by teammate Austin Holt
(New Albany) who shot a 226 for sixth place.
Tanner Sparks (Belmont) and Austin Bynum (West Union) tied for 13th.
“This is the type of golf we’ve been capable of playing all year, but for some reason haven’t,” BMC coach Danny McKenzie said. “These guys kept the faith, kept grinding, and put it together when it counted.”
