BLUE MOUNTAIN – Phillip Laney has been named cross country coach at Blue Mountain College.
Laney spent the last six seasons as cross country coach at Ripley High School.
He replaces Heather Duley, who resigned this spring after two seasons at Blue Mountain. Laney will coach both men’s and women’s cross country programs at BMC.
“I’m really excited over the opportunity to move into such a great program at Blue Mountain,” Laney said.
Laney took over the track and cross country programs at Ripley in 2006 when Fred Smith resigned to start the BMC cross country program.
He also coached track at Ripley for four seasons.
Prior to taking over the Tigers’ program, Laney was the cross country coach at New Albany High School for six seasons.
