BMC impressive in Commodore Classic

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Blue Mountain College, led by Tuesdae Rowland and Austin Epting, put up an impressive showing in Saturday’s Commodore Classic cross-country meet at Vanderbilt University.

Competing against NCAA Divisions I, II and III and NAIA teams, BMC finished 11th of 16 women’s team and 10th of 13 men’s teams.

Vanderbilt won the women’s 5k race with 21 points and an average time of 18:14.96; and the University of Tennessee won the men’s 8k race with 23 total points and an average time of 25:44.60

In the women’s competition – won by Vanderbilt’s Rita Jorgenson at 18:01.95 – Rowland finished 67th of 127 runners with a time of 20:36.54. In the men’s competition – won by Festus Chemoi of Middle Tennessee State University with a time of 25:17:51 – Epting was 47th of 141 runners with a time of 27:16.64.
