The Bruce Trojans advanced to the Class 2A North Half finals with a 4-2 win over the Eupora Eagles Monday night in Eupora in a deciding game 3 of the MHSAA second round playoffs.
Bruce scored two runs in the top of the third inning to tie the game at 2-2 and added on another two runs in the fourth inning to take the lead for good.
Trojan’s pitcher Caleb Hanley (9-2) allowed two runs in the first inning, but held the Eagles scoreless the rest of the way for a complete-game victory. The Trojans improved to 23-5 on the year, while the Eagles finished the season at 18-9.
Bruce begins a best-of-three series with Region 2-2A foe Hamilton Thursday in Bruce. The Lions beat the Trojans in both regular season meetings, 5-1, 12-4.
