Mississippi State reports back to campus Wednesday to begin preparations for the 2014 football season.

The Bulldogs will hold their initial fall practice Thursday at 4:45 p.m., with all practices being closed to the public. Media will only be permitted at the Aug. 2 practice.

MSU returns 57 letterwinners and 18 starters from last year’s 7-6 squad that won the Liberty Bowl.

Dan Mullen begins his sixth season in Starkville, where he holds a 36-28 record and has led the Bulldogs to a school-record four straight bowl appearances.

State will host Southern Miss Aug. 30 at 6:30 p.m. on the SEC Network.
