STARKVILLE – No. 25 Mississippi State will host Austin Peay tonight, the first meeting between the teams since the 2011 Atlanta NCAA Regional.
The Bulldogs won that game, 8-3, en route to capturing the regional title.
Today, MSU (21-6) is taking on an Austin Peay team that’s 19-4 and has won 14 of its last 16 games. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. State will send sophomore right-hander Will Cox (2-1, 1.93 ERA) to the mound, and the Governors will counter with freshman righty Jared Carkuff (0-0, 6.57).
MSU leads the all-time series, 4-2, including a 3-0 mark at Dudy Noble Field.
