Butch Lambert tees off today at Natchez Trace

The 28th annual Butch Lambert Invitational golf tournament tees off today and Sunday at the Natchez Trace Golf Club in Saltillo.
Lan Gooch, the defending champion and Natchez Trace pro, will not play after winning the event four of the last five years.
Three-time champion Mark Enis, the coach of Tupelo High School’s state champion golf team, is playing for his first Lambert title since 2004. Bo Reed, the 2010 champion, is also entered.
The 36-hole tournament, sanctioned by the Mississippi Golf Association, will be flighted for Sunday’s finals, following today’s opening round. More than 90 players have signed up for the tournament.
