ABERDEEN – It’s tough not to talk about the Nov. 5 LSU-Alabama game and it’s no different for the guys each of those teams are recruiting, like Aberdeen ‘s Channing Ward.
Those two plus Auburn were expected to watch Ward at Lester Miley Stadium Friday night, Aberdeen ‘s final regular season game against South Pontotoc.
The five-star senior defensive tackle talked with both LSU and Auburn Wednesday on the phone.
It won’t be the last time LSU and Alabama show up in the same arena this season, with the faux National Championship Game a week away.
It’s not too early to talk about it and Ward plans to be there as a guest for the showdown.
Tickets on Stubhub have ranged from just under $400 to more than $10,000.
“That game is going to be crazy. Everybody from anywhere is going to watch that game,” Ward said. “You’re not a big sports fan if you’re not watching that game.”
Ward said that one game won’t narrow his top five list, that also includes LSU, Mississippi State and Ole Miss, no matter who wins or loses.
