Mississippi State’s basketball team is apparently going to play UCLA in the Wooden Classic on Dec. 12, according to multiple reports. MSU would not confirm it.
That would mean finding another date for the Gardner-Webb game that was set for Dec. 12. State has two other dates still to fill.
The Wooden Classic is a four-team, two-game event held at the Honda Center in Los Angeles. UCLA is already a confirmed participant, but a worker in the Honda Center ticket office said no other teams are confirmed. A call to UCLA’s basketball office has not been returned.
The trip would come two days after MSU’s visit to Tampa for the SEC/Big East Challenge, where it will face DePaul.
