Mississippi State right-hander Kendall Graveman was named the SEC pitcher of the week today, and for good reason.
In Friday’s 7-1 win over Tennessee, the junior from Alexander City, Ala., tossed his second complete game of the season. Graveman allowed the one run on three hits, struck out eight, walked two and induced 15 groundball outs (his specialty).
Graveman retired 13 of the final 14 batters he faced, including nine in a row. For the season, he’s now 3-2 with a 2.92 ERA in 10 starts.
MSU (24-16, 8-10 SEC) swept the series from Tennessee.
