MSU Basketball Gets Commitment from Sword

Craig Sword, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Montgomery (Ala.) Carver High School, has made a verbal commitment to Mississippi State, his coach said this morning via text message.

Sword is the first commitment for MSU’s 2012 class. He comes from the same school as Roquez Johnson, a forward who last week became the fourth member of the Bulldogs’ 2011 signing class.

A four-star prospect who’s rated the 11th-best shooting guard in the country, according to, Sword averaged 23 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals per game last season for Carver.
