Mississippi State has released its entire non-conference schedule for the upcoming men’s basketball season. The 12-game slate includes only five games at Humphrey Coliseum and road trips to Troy and Providence, plus the Maui Invitational. There’s also the game at Loyola-Chicago, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the teams’ notable NCAA tournament meeting.
MSU had nine non-conference games at home last season. The five this year are the fewest since the 2004-05 season, when State also had just five non-conference home dates.
“Looking at the schedule, there’s no question it’s going to be challenging,” first-year head coach Rick Ray said in a news release. “We play a lot of games early on the road, but I think that will present an invaluable opportunity for this team to bond and will help us prepare for SEC play.”
