Jon Clark will rejoin Dan Mullen as Mississippi State’s new director of football operations, the school announced this afternoon. Clark comes from Florida, where he was Urban Meyer‘s director of football administration for five years. He also worked for Meyer in that role at Utah from 2002-03 and was an undergraduate student manager for the coach at Bowling Green State. He was also an administrative graduate assistant at BGSU.
Mullen, of course, was with Meyer at all those stops before becoming MSU’s head coach in December of 2008.
“Jon is an experienced veteran in the ins-and-outs of a successful football program, and we’re excited to bring him on board,” Mullen said in a release. “I’ve known Jon for nearly 10 years now and it’s great to welcome him to the Mississippi State family.”
Clark, whose hiring is pending approval by the state IHL board, replaces Jody Wright, who left after one year to take a graduate assistant’s job at Alabama.
