Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen has just issued a statement this evening about the departure of defensive coordinator Carl Torbush, who has taken on the same role at Kansas for new coach Turner Gill. It reads, in full:
“We wish Carl the best in his future endeavors. We’ve already begun a search for his replacement that will be a good fit on our staff in both defensive philosophy and as an aggressive recruiter. Our focus right now – as always – is recruiting the best players in the state of Mississippi to represent their State University.”
That’s all we’ve got right now from Mullen, who’s on the road recruiting. Torbush left after just one season at the school. Look for a story in tomorrow’s Journal.
