SEC Media Days: Storylines (or Not)

I present to you some of the top storylines, in my opinion, that will be covered at SEC Media Days this week:

Alabama: Can the Crimson Tide go a step (or two) further than last year?

Arkansas: It’s year two for Bobby Petrino, and some people are expecting the Hogs to make some noise.

Auburn: Can offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn put some zip into that offense?

Florida: Can Florida win another BCS crown, and will Tim Tebow reclaim the Heisman?

Georgia: Will the early departures of QB Matthew Stafford and RB Knowshon Moreno soften the Bulldogs’ bite?

Kentucky: Wildcats try to keep recent high standard – for them – they’ve set.

LSU: QB quandary supposedly resolved – but not without some anxiety – so no excuses this season.

Mississippi State: How’s that spread offense coming along, coach?

Ole Miss: Are the sky-high expectations weighing heavily on Houston Nutt’s shoulders?

South Carolina: Will Steve Spurrier find more reason to chastise Lane Kiffin?

Tennessee: What’s the over-under on how many dumb things Kiffin will say Thursday?

Vanderbilt: Can the Commodores start strong again but this time avoid the annual second-half swoon?

Now, for other storylines that I’d like to see develop, but probably won’t:

Alabama: How many media members are intimidated by Nick Saban?

Arkansas: Will Petrino bolt if the Hogs start out 0-4 in SEC play?

Auburn: Will Gene Chizik be back next year?

Florida: Will the Tebow statue be erected before or after he graduates?

Georgia: Will Mark Richt ever look his age?

Kentucky: Can John Calipari make them a contender? Wait, sorry …

LSU: What’s Les Miles hiding under his cap?

Mississippi State: Will @CoachDanMullen tweet at halftime of games?

Ole Miss: Is Greg Hardy going to keep his right foot in bubble wrap all season?

South Carolina: When did Spurrier get so old?

Tennessee: Isn’t Monte Kiffin really running the show?

Vanderbilt: Are the ‘Dores good enough now to start talking trash at Tennessee?
