Super Bulldog Weekend 2012 is upon us, so there’s a lot for you to do. I’ll try to prep you best I can. Let’s start with baseball.
• The Bulldogs (21-16, 5-10 SEC) host Tennessee (22-15, 7-8) starting today (CLICK HERE). First pitch is 6:30 p.m., and the game will be broadcast by ESPNU. MSU has lost four in a row and needs to get back on track, or postseason hopes will remain in peril.
“We want to leave it positive and try to take it one game at a time and just win one game at a time,” shortstop Adam Frazier said. “Once you win one, you can win another. That’s what we want to look at, the positives and just try to win tomorrow and have that carry over to Friday and Saturday. That’s about as far as we’re going to look right now.”
• The SEC Men’s Tennis Tournament gets going today, although State won’t play until Friday, at 11 a.m. versus the Alabama/Tennessee winner. Coach Per Nilsson believes his team has a good shot at winning the title (CLICK HERE).
• About 4:30 today, the MSU football team will hold its last important scrimmage of the spring. Yes, more important than Saturday’s Maroon-White spring game, which is all for the fans.
• Also in today’s Journal is a story on MSU shooting guard Jalen Steele, who’s now the unlikely face of the program (CLICK HERE).
