There are a number of areas in which the Rebels need to improve to rebound from a 4-8 season in 2010. The secondary is one. Statistically, it’s where the Rebels need to make up the most ground from a year ago.
There are some unknowns on the defensive line. Having Kentrell Lockett back at one end should be a big boost. The Rebels will be smaller but more athletic on the interior. They’ll be inexperienced there too.
The secondary is what Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt felt the need to address in the off-season when he hired Keith Burns.
Burns is coaching the corners and says he likes to put the corners in press coverage, not press exclusively but more of it. I think that’s a good move.
