Hollandale-Simmons defensive end Carlos Thompson has committed to Ole Miss.
Thompson made the announcement on the 6 o’clock news of Greenville’s WABG. Rivals rates him a four-star prospect and the No. 4 overall prospect in Mississippi.
He had offers from Baylor, Memphis, North Carolina, Southern Miss and Mississippi State.
Thompson told Rebelsports.net that two things worked in favor of Ole Miss: the possibility of early playing time with the departure of ends Greg Hardy, Emmanuel Stephens and Marcus Tillman and the presence of defensive line coach Terry Price, who was at Auburn when God-brother Quentin Groves played there.
