Jerrell Powe talks about Auburn game | Ole Miss Sports
Here’s what DT Jerrell Powe had to say about last night’s Ole Miss loss to Auburn. …
Coming into the game, we focused on stopping the run and he did a great job of passing the ball. In the second half, they did a good job of establishing the run.
On Auburn’s offense
I’ve been on a team like that before, but I’ve never played against a team like that before. They’re a really good football team and I give all the credit to them.
They’re not the most physical team we’ve played, but they are the most up beat team we’ve played. They do a good job running the offense. It’s a very fast-paced offense. It’s definitely an upbeat offense. It’s fast.
On Auburn QB Cam Newton
He’s an athlete, I’ve been seeing the guy since his high school days and we knew what he was capable of. We didn’t know they were going to split him out wide, but he did a good job and made plays for his team.
He’s one of the best two or three quarterbacks I’ve ever played against. Like I said, we focused on stopping the run–and we did a good job–and he beat us with his arm. He hadn’t beaten nobody all year with his arm and he came out and beat us with his arm. He’s definitely No. 1 in my heart as a candidate for Heisman.

On the state of the Rebels
I feel good about our chances. We’re still in search of a complete game. We’re not going to change anything. We’re just going to get in here and do what we’re supposed to do and try to take it out on Saturday.
