Hey, you steal away to Six Flags for a little bit, and news happens.
Oklahoma State All-American cornerback Perrish Cox has been suspended for undisclosed team rules violations and will not play in the Cotton Bowl tomorrow.
Obviously, that’s a benefit to Ole Miss. The Cox-Shay Hodge matchup, the lockdown corrner against the receiver who always gets open, was one of the game’s more intriguing matchups.
Cox’s likely replacements, a true freshman and a redshirt freshman, have appeared in a combined eight games this season and haven’t nearly registered on the stat meter the way of Cox, who leads the nation in passes defensed, is an All-American, a Thorpe Award finalist and is a huge special teams impact player in the return game.
