Next week’s Ole Miss homecoming game against Louisiana Tech has been scheduled for a 6:30 p.m., kick with CSS television.
The Rebels are at Kentucky this week with a 2:30 p.m., start and ESPNU television.
In other news this morning, Auburn RB Michael Dyer was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week for his 177-yard performance against Ole Miss. Dyer had a long run of 48 yards and carried for one touchdown.
The reason this is Ole Miss news is because Dyer becomes the third SEC back in three weeks to win the league’s offensive honor after rushing against the Rebels. He preceded by Alabama’s Trent Richardson and Arkansas’ Dennis Johnson.
Kentucky enters this week’s game ranked No. 78 in rushing offense at 139.75 yards a game. That’s ninth in the SEC. The Wildcats are led by freshman running back Josh Clemons with 279 yards. He rushed for 126 of those in Week 2 against Central Michigan, but he did have 69 yards against LSU.
Auburn’s 254 rushing yards dropped the Rebels from No. 115 to No. 116 in rushing defense in the NCAA’s statistical rankings. Ole Miss is giving up 226.75 yards a game on the ground. Six teams have surpassed 200 yards rushing against the Rebels.
