There were no shocking announcements at today’s press conference.
Houston Nutt did not resign, and he also did not announce that any assistant coach has been relieved of his duties. He says he’s still evaluating whether members of his staff will be retained or released.
“I don’t want to. That’s the most difficult thing there is. It’s family. It’s people you know and love. It’s hard, but that’s where you have to separate that and do what’s best for Ole Miss.”
While there’s no change on the staff today, the name of WR coach Ron Dickerson has been linked to the head coach opening at Louisiana-Lafayette.
Nutt indicated that sophomore running back Rodney Scott likely would not return to the team, but he was optimistic that most of his suspended players would return, including WR Melvin Harris, LB Clarence Jackson.
More notes later.
