There has been some initial resistance to the nine-game schedule, because that’s one more game that one SEC team can beat up on another when that losing SEC team could be playing a weak non-conference game instead. The nine-game schedule could make it harder to be a part of the coming playoff scenario, whatever shape that scenario takes. But Lexington columnist John Clay says the playoff system isn’t going to change things very much anyway.
