Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy has come under fire from some Rebels fans during the team’s 1-5 SEC start.
He got a strong endorsement on the SEC teleconference moments ago from legnedary coach Larry Brown by way of Kentucky coach John Calipari.
“We had Larry Brown in here last week, and he doesn’t even know him, and his comment was, ‘That guy can really coach,'” Calipari said.
Calipari and his legendary Kentucky program are in Oxford Tuesday night at 6 for an ESPNU telecast. Ole Miss is 0-3 in SEC home games, but Calipari was very complimentary of the Rebels. Though they’ve been held under 66 points in two SEC home losses, Calipari says the Rebels are doing what they need to do on offense, not relying too much on Chris Warren.
“I like what they’re doing . They’re spacing the court, running good stuff, getting good looks. I like how he’s spacing the floor, how they attack the rim. They get to the rim and draw fouls. They’re playing to their strengths. I don’t like it for us, I like it for them.”
