Ole Miss 42, Southern Illinois 24

Closer than the score indicates. More to come.

Ole Miss leads 28-10. It’s worth nothing that Ole Miss led 31-10 in the third quarter last year against You-know-who-ville State.

Zack Stoudt has taken every snap and quarterback and has looked good. He’s 6 for 11 for 70 yards and a TD.

There are issues in pass protection mostly from the OL interior. Not been a good half for the guards.

Freshman cornerback Senquez Golson started in place of Wesley Pendleton. Pendleton was in the game in the second quarter.

Jeff Scott currently has 77 yards and two touchdowns on six carries, plus a 67-yard punt return touchdown.

By virtue of its long touchdown drive and the Rebels’ quick scores, SIU has a time of possession edge of 18:12 to 11:48. SIU has outgained Ole Miss 170-151.

Walk of Champions video here made available by Kyle Alford. Specialists are on the field now for Southern Illinois, a few for Ole Miss. When the Rebels entered the stadium from the Grove they gathered at midfield, as is their custom, and were led in a cheer by injured running back Brandon Bolden.
