Staying on message | Ole Miss Sports

Hugh Freeze talked of the wilderness and talked of rebuilding in the off-season. He’s never talked about winning and losing, and that didn’t change at his first regular season presser.

Freeze stayed on message Monday, choosing not to pressure his players into thinking they have to win, even against an FCS opponent in Central Arkansas. Hugh’s Message

The most definitive statement Freeze has made about his quarterbacks came on Monday when he said “probably around” Wednesday he would name a starter. Being the starter only means you get the first chance to not come out of the game. Freeze has said whoever had the hot hand would play, a kind of “make it, take it” approach to his two-quarterback system. So the best way to stay on the field is to lead a scoring drive every time. That’s what Bo Wallace intends to do. Notebook
