JB asked in a blog post a while back about current Ole Miss players who were part of the previous administration.
Kentrell Lockett comes to mind, because he’s just been granted a sixth season of eligibility by the NCAA.
In fact, there are several remaining players who were signees of former coach Ed Orgeron and one who joined Orgeron’s team as a walk-on.
In addition to Lockett …
– Kicker David Hankins joined the team as a walk-on prior to the 2007 season.
– Offensive tackle Bradley Sowell signed in 2007 and was redshirted.
– Guard Alex Washington signed in 2007 and was redshirted.
– Lockett is the only remaining player who actually got on the field during Oregeron’s time as coach.
Lockett signed in 2006. He was being prepared to play but had the shoulder injury and was redshirted. In Orgeron’s last season, 2007, Lockett appeared in six games with two starts. He had seven tackles, a tackle for loss and a sack.
