There will be some big crowds at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium this football season. Ole Miss officials want to make sure as many Ole Miss fans as possible are making up those crowds.
On Wednesday the school announced a “Pick 3” mini-package for season tickets. It will be available beginning Aug. 8.
I noticed that South Carolina, a contender for the Eastern Division title, is offering mini-packages also and offering them at a lower rate.
The Rebels’ “Pick 3” at $199 allows fans to choose any three games. As it reads, you could possibly choose Texas, Texas A&M and Mississippi State, not a bad three-game set.
Auburn and Vanderbilt are also SEC home games, while Western Division contenders Alabama, LSU and Arkansas, as well as East contender Georgia, are all on the road.
The South Carolina packages offer three games at $155 and $130 but select the games for you. For $155 you get UAB, Missouri and Tennessee. For $130 you get East Carolina, Arkansas and Wofford.
Among the first words from Ole Miss AD Ross Bjork at any group meeting involved the purchasing of season tickets.
Maybe the Pick 3 will help increase a home-field advantage for a team that will need the support of its fans.
