Football fans were scratching their heads Friday when the Indianapolis Colts announced the signing of wide receiver Joe Horn.
No, Peyton Manning won’t be throwing passes to the former ICC and New Orleans Saints standout Joe Horn this fall. This is a different, much younger, player named Joe Horn.
The new Colts player is a speedy 5-11, 179-pounder out of Ashland (Ohio) University who caught 28 touchdowns in college and is more likely to make an NFL roster as a special teams gunner.
As for the 39-year-old Tupelo native Horn, whose last season in the NFL was in 2007, he’ll be conducting a football camp at Robins Field today, starting at 10 a.m.
