ICC’s Indians and Northeast’s Tigers begin play Friday in the MACJC state baseball tournament on their home fields.
The Indians (38-10), ranked No. 5 nationally by the NJCAA, host Pearl River at 6 p.m. Friday in the first game of a best-of-three series. Game 2 is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Crubaugh Field in Fulton. Game 3, if necessary, would follow.
The Tigers (33-12) host Jones at 1 p.m. Friday in Game 1 at Harold T. White Field in Booneville. Game 2 is scheduled for noon Saturday, with Game 3, if necessary, to follow.
The winners of these series advance to a four-team tournament next week at the remaining highest-seeded team from the South.
