Conflict with state testing leads to softball changes

By NEMS Daily Journal

The MHSAA state fastpitch softball tournament’s quarterfinal round has been delayed a day because of state testing.
Play was scheduled to begin Thursday with a single game and conclude Saturday with a doubleheader, if necessary.
Most best-of-three series in North Mississippi have been switched to Friday starts. However, the 1A series between Pine Grove and Smithville will begin on Saturday and finish Monday.
The state finals in all six classifications is scheduled for May 18-19 in Ridgeland.
