Organizers of Saturday’s Corinth Coca-Cola Classic 10k will close registration at 1,500 entries, they announced Wednesday.
At 3 p.m. Wednesday, there were 1,433 entries.
“We are humbled by the reception for our event,” said founder Kenneth Williams. “We’re trying to create the best environment for the slowest runner in the field as well as the fastest.”
Registration for the race opened on Oct. 11.
Last year’s race finished in hot conditions. Saturday’s forecast has a 50 percent chance of rain and cool temperatures expected at starting time.
Magnolia Regional Health Center is a co-sponsor of the event. which is in its 32nd year.
