Cotton States League to start season on Saturday

NEW ALBANY – The BNA Bank Cotton States Baseball League is scheduled to start its third season on Saturday with a triple-header beginning at 1 p.m. at the New Albany Sportsplex.
Several changes are in store for the collegiate wooden bat league which plays its games at Legion Field. Most notably, three league teams will have new head coaches.
Chip Wade, an assistant scout in the New York Mets organization, will take over the Tippah Tribe. Stacy Hester, a five-time state champion high school coach at New Hope, wilk assume the head coaching duties for the Golden Triangle Jets. And John Walker, the head coach at New Albany, will be promoted to head coach for the North Delta Dealers.
The other league teams are the defending champion Tallahatchie Rascals and the Tupelo Thunder.
