With all the great basketball played in Northeast Mississippi, getting a regular season tournament to stand out takes a true combination of various ingredients.
One of those that has stood the test of a couple of decades is the Hot Bed Classic in New Albany .
Hosted in a true basketball county, certainly a classic gym that can manage a nice crowd, and behind-the-scenes work that makes an effort to provide matchups that have entertained this area more times than not.
Hitting the way-back button, perhaps the most entertaining Hot Bed I ever covered was in 1999, with the final two contests each worthy of the spotlight.
The one that perhaps got a lot of the attention was No. 1 in the state Jackson Provine against the undefeated Tupelo Golden Wave.
