Delta State baseball reaches regional final

TAMPA, Fla. – The Delta State baseball team survived a pair of must-win games on Sunday to reach today’s NCAA Division II South Region championship game.
The Statesmen (44-13) must defeat Stillman twice today in order to advance to the D-II World Series. The first game is set for 11 a.m.
Delta State beat Nova Southeastern 8-5, then eliminated Alabama-Huntsville 7-6 in 10 innings.
Former Mooreville standout Ben Kingsley, DSU’s junior designated hitter, went 3 for 9 and scored three runs in Sunday’s two games.
Stillman (32-16) beat UAH 11-5 on Saturday to reach the championship game. The Tigers are on a 14-game winning streak dating to April 14.
