STARKVILLE – Mississippi State is helping former baseball player Ryan Duffy with a ‘Do It for Duffy’ 5K walk/run and silent auction/First Pitch banquet on Feb. 12.
Proceeds will go to Duffy, who suffered a severe spinal injury last summer, and his family to help pay for his medical and rehabilitation bills.
The 5K will begin at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of the Palmeiro Center, and the entry fee is $30, which includes a “Do It for Duffy” T-shirt to those who register by Jan. 29. There’s also a one-mile fun run for ages 12 and under with an entry fee of $20.
The silent auction will be held during MSU’s annual First Pitch banquet, which starts at 4 p.m. that same day. Businesses and individuals are asked to donate items to be auctioned.
