Doctor's final evaluation of Hardy's foot to come next week

OXFORD – Doctors will not make a final determination and evaluation of senior defensive end Greg Hardy’s injured right foot until next week, said head athletics trainer Tim Mullins on Wednesday.

Hardy, a member of the Ole Miss Football team injured his foot in a car accident near Pontotoc, Miss., this past Saturday.

In the accident, Hardy aggravated his right foot which had previously undergone surgery following the 2008 football season.

According to Mullins, Dr. Bob Anderson of Charlotte, N.C. – who is a team physician with the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League and a consultant for the NFL – is out of the country and will not be able to evaluate the CT scan of the foot until early next week.

“Dr. Anderson is considered to be an expert in foot related injuries,” Mullins said. “Once Dr. Anderson has an opportunity to evaluate the scan and make a final determination on the injury, an appropriate plan of action for rehabilitating the foot will be provided for Hardy at that time.”
