There will be 40 runners from the state in the 25,000-runner field for today’s Boston Marathon, including a dozen from the Journal’s circulation area.
Aaron Ford, 28, of Booneville will run today after finishing 1,123rd last year in 2:58:20.
The entry list for today’s race also includes Saltillo’s Mark Shepherd, who’s well-known in local running and triathlon circles, Tupelo dentist James Chrisman and 69-year-old Kenneth Williams of Corinth.
Williams, who’s finished the last eight consecutive Bostons, finished last year in 4:53:48. In 2009, he ran a 3:40:50 and finished 18th in his age group.
