It’s almost time for the Ducks Unlimited Tupelo/Tombigbee River Valley Chapter’s annual sportsman’s banquet.
The banquet is Thursday at 6 p.m. at the BancorpSouth Conference Center in Tupelo. The event will feature a dinner, silent auction, live auction and raffle.
“Our committee is made up of sportsmen in Tupelo who love the outdoors and want to insure that it is maintained and protected for all to enjoy for years to come,” Committee Member Michael Addison said. “Through the support of our members and attendees, we raised almost $15,000 last year to send to Ducks Unlimited. This money was raised at our annual banquet.”
Events like this go a long way to helping in DU’s mission of creating waterfowl habitats. Only 2 percent of the funds raised go to administration. In Mississippi last year $408,926 was raised through grass roots efforts.
Ducks Unlimited is the world’s leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation. Ducks Unlimited is a grassroots, volunteer-based organization. Its members are conservationists and outdoor enthusiasts who live throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Tickets: Greenwings (under 18)–$25; 1 Membership and Dinner; Single, $50; Couple, $65. Sponsorships packages start at $350 and corporrate tables are available for $500.
“The ticket prices that we are advertising also include a subscription to Duck Unlimited magazine,” Addison said. “By pre-purchasing your tickets, you will receive a $5 discount.”

“This is a great way to entertain clients, or entertain your family. We try to bring that duck camp feeling to Tupelo for this night,” Addison said. “We don’t have a campfire, but there are good friends, food and drink, and plenty of cool guns to check out. On this hunting trip you won’t bring back any wild game, but you may bring back some great stuff.”
