HONOLULU, Hawaii – The Southern Miss football team utilized its final practice in preparation for the 10th annual Sheraton Hawaii Bowl contest against Nevada this Saturday.
The 2011 Conference USA champions worked out under mostly sunny skies for about an hour and a half at the game’s playing facility, Aloha Stadium.
The Golden Eagles (11-2, 6-2 C-USA) worked on both offensive and defensive drive situations for the first part of the workout before finishing the last half with special teams work.
The team was then afforded the opportunity to eat lunch at Dave and Buster’s in Waikiki before enjoying the bowl’s kickoff banquet later in the evening.
The Golden Eagles will go through a walk-through on Friday morning before selected players will visit the Kapiolani Hospital during the afternoon.
The team will conclude its trip to the 50th state when they meet the Wolf Pack (7-5, 5-2 WAC) at 7 p.m., CT, Christmas Eve. The game will be broadcast on the Southern Miss IMG Sports Network as well as televised nationally on ESPN.
