ONEONTA, N.Y. – Chris Hilliard recently went from one minor league team to the other, and on Thursday night he let his presence be known in the Class A New York-Penn League.
After pitching previously for the New York Mets’ Appalachian League affiliate, the Ecru native pitched six strong innings to earn the win in his debut for the Mets’ Brooklyn Cyclones team of the New York-Penn League.
In the Cyclones’ 4-3 win over the Detroit Tigers’ Oneonta Tigers club, Hilliard allowed five hits and only one run, which was unearned. He struck out two and walked two on the night.
