Mississippi State’s defensive line got an immediate boost when Denico Autry made a verbal commitment Monday night.
Scout.com reported on Tuesday that Autry, a defensive end from East Mississippi Community College, had decided on the Bulldogs. He’s the 24th member of MSU’s 2012 commitment class and the second juco player, joining Gulf Coast offensive lineman Dylan Holley.
The 6-foot-5, 255-pound Autry made 76 tackles, 13 tackles-for-loss and eight sacks to help EMCC win the NJCAA national title this season. The Albemarle, N.C. native who has a four-star rating from Scout.com will sign Dec. 21 and enroll at MSU in January.
He’ll shore up a defensive end spot that’s losing starter Sean Ferguson and returns a young starter in Kaleb Eulls.
