Former Mississippi State standout Lawrence Roberts has signed a two-year deal with Lithuanian basketball team Lietuvos Rytas.
Roberts played for Efes Pilsin Instanbul last season, averaging 6.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-9 forward also played in Serbia and Greece since leaving the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies in 2007.
He was drafted No. 55 overall by the Seattle Supersonics in 2005, then traded to the Grizzlies for future draft picks.
Roberts split his college career between Baylor and MSU, averaging 16.9 points and 10.5 rebounds in two seasons with the Bulldogs. As a junior, he was named SEC player of the year and led MSU to the overall SEC crown.
