Former ICC Indian turned North Alabama Lion designated hitter Jake Sloan (Hatley HS) was one of 15 players recently named to the Daktronics All-South Region first team as voted by the NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Sloan went 7-for-18 with two doubles, a home run, walk, sacrifice bunt, sacrifice fly, and was hit by a pitch to drive in three runs and score two more in five games this past week in Pensacola, Florida.

The Lions’ (37-14) season came to an end this on Sunday after a 10-5 loss to Barry in the semi-final round of the NCAA Division II South Region Tournament. The Hamilton native went 2-for-3 at the plate and threw 4.2 innings to give up three runs, all earned, on five hits with four walks and four strikeouts in a no decision.
