BOONEVILLE – Northeast Mississippi Community College’s former first baseman Jake Mills signed with Millsaps College in Jackson back in May of 2009 and he has made the most of his opportunity.

Mills led the Tigers in 2009 in a pair of offensive categories. The Tiger first baseman carried the Tigers in batting average (.444), on base percentage (.535) and finished with 41 runs batted in (RBI).
During the 2009 season, the Northeast baseball team turned in a 33-14 record and a 17-7 mark in the MACJC North Division finishing second in the division after beating Itawamba Community College on the final day of the regular season.
