Former Ole Miss standout Lance Lynn gets his first major league start tonight as the St. Louis Cardinals wrap up a series with the San Francisco Giants.
First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m.
Lynn, a 6-foot-5 righty, was a first-round pick (39th overall) by the Cardinals in the 2008 draft. He quickly worked his way to Triple-A Memphis, where he’s 18-13 in 39 starts over the past two seasons.
The Cardinals will plug Lynn in to replace Kyle McClellan (6-2, 3.86 ERA), who was placed on the disabled list with a strained hip flexor.
Lynn, 24, lost out to McClellan in the battle for a spot in the rotation during the spring.
