Fulton native McDonald struggles at Women’s Am

Fulton’s Ally McDonald, a rising sophomore at Mississippi State, opened play on Monday at the U.S. Women’s Amateur in Cleveland, Ohio, with an 80.
McDonald had two birdies in her round, with eight bogeys and one double bogey. She’s in a tie for 120th place at 8 over.
A former Ole Miss player, Canadian Natalie Gleadall, was
tied for fifth after shooting a 2-under 70. Another former Rebel, Haley Milsap, opened with a 75, while incoming Ole Miss freshman Abby Newton, from Texas, shot an 85.
Lydie Ko of New Zealand opened with a 66 for a two stroke lead.
The tourney continues today.
