Fulton natives pair up today at state amateur

WEST POINT – Top seeded Ally McDonald meets a fellow Fulton golfer, high schooler Carlee Nanney, as match play begins today in the MWGA
State Amateur at Old Waverly.
McDonald, the Mississippi State sophomore All-American, is seeded No. 1 as the defending champion.
She and Nanney tee off at 9:36 a.m.
The top scores in Monday’s qualifying were all 71s – by Shannon Adams, Cissy Gallagher and Kathleen Gallagher. Mary Langdon Gallagher shot a 72.
Cissy Gallagher, a 2012 semifinalist, is the mother of the other two other Gallaghers in the field.
The tourney runs through Thursday.
