STARKVILLE – Mississippi State freshman Ally McDonald was named women’s SEC Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.
McDonald, a native of Fulton, is the first Lady Bulldog in school history to win the award.
“God continues to bless me, and I can’t give Him enough credit,” McDonald said. “It is such an honor to recognized for my performance on the course. We are steadily getting better, and I’m so thankful to be a part of the program we are building here at Mississippi State.”
The award comes a day after McDonald placed second at the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate with a 3-under 141.
McDonald currently owns the fourth-best scoring average among SEC freshmen, and is on pace to break MSU’s alltime scoring average record for a single season.
